Advisory Committee Meeting
Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Advisory Committee members are appointed by the Commissioner of the Department of Agriculture and Consumer
Service. Some of the duties and responsibilities of the committee are:
- Establish policies to guide the Department regarding the OHV Program and the system of OHV recreation areas and trails.
- Make recommendations to the Department regarding OHV safety and training and education programs in operations of ATVs, ROVs and OHMs.
- Meet at various times and locations throughout Florida to receive public comments on the implementation of the program.
- Review and make recommendations annually regarding the Department’s proposed budgets for the program.
- Review grant applications requesting funding from designate OHV funds.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Off-Highway Vehicle Safety and Recreation Program is to provide the public with greater opportunities for riding off-highway vehicles on public lands.
This mission will be accomplished through a statewide coordination effort among public agencies in the acquisition, development and enhancement of off-highway vehicle recreation
areas. In addition, it is part of the mission to develop programs that provide for education, conservation and enforcement of applicable regulations related to off-highway
vehicle activities that will conserve and protect cultural and natural resources.
